Christoph Sander

Christoph is Chairman of United Authors Publishing Limited (Unbound) based in London, and is also a non-executive director of Papyrus AB based in Gothenburg, Sweden, and a senior advisor to Altor private equity based in Stockholm, Sweden.

Christoph has considerable international experience of working on the Boards of publicly-listed and privately-held groups (Bunzl plc in London, ISS A/S in Copenhagen, and Papyrus AB in Gothenburg) as an executive director, non-executive director and committee chairman. He has also acted as a senior advisor to international private equity funds based in Europe including Goldman Sachs, EQT, Altor, Triton and in Emerging Markets including EuroCapital, Darby and Gulf Capital.

Having begun his career with the Boston Consulting Group based in London, Germany, Scandinavia and Southern Africa, his area of focus has been the successful development and growth of small to medium sized businesses. Whilst at Harpur Group he was responsible for expanding this UK based business into several continental European markets and South East Asia. This was followed by 12 years with Bunzl plc, where he led the establishment of the highly successful European business from its inception from a base of £40million in UK sales to becoming the global market leader in the distribution of non-food consumables with sales in excess of £1billion and operations in 15 countries. He was appointed to the Board of this FTSE 100 company as Executive Director responsible for the UK, Europe and Australasia. After leaving Bunzl, he served on the Board of ISS, the world leader in facilities management, based in Copenhagen, where he also was appointed Chairman of the Acquisitions Committee.

Most recently, Christoph has gained considerable experience in fundraising small company start-ups and now acts as Chairman of Unbound.

Christoph holds a MA in Economics from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
